About the Tailoring Leveling Boost
Tailoring is the cloth-crafting profession for caster and healer specs in Classic Era. Master Tailoring at 300 unlocks the BiS pre-raid spell-DPS chest (Robe of the Archmage), the BiS pre-raid healing chest (Truefaith Vestments), the Mooncloth Bag (16-slot tailor-only bag using Mooncloth — transmuted from two Felcloth on a four-day cooldown), and the Bottomless Bag (14-slot premium bag).
Note: Classic Era tailoring has no specialization branches (unlike TBC's Spellfire / Mooncloth / Shadoweave split). All recipes are available to every tailor at the right skill level.
The leveling path runs through Eastern Kingdoms / Kalimdor cities. Material costs scale steeply at higher tiers because Mooncloth and Bloodvine recipes consume rare reagents. The booster supplies materials or pulls from your bank.
FAQ
Is Mooncloth Bag worth crafting?
Yes for personal use. The 16-slot Mooncloth Bag is the largest tailor-only bag in Classic Era. The Mooncloth itself is transmuted from Felcloth on a four-day cooldown, so most tailors craft one bag per cooldown cycle until they have full bag inventory.
Should I pair Tailoring with Enchanting?
Yes for casters / healers. Tailoring crafts intermediate gear that disenchants into materials for Enchanting. The pairing is also common because Tailoring + Enchanting requires no gathering profession on the character — both rely on cloth drops from mob kills and disenchant inputs.
