August Stone Shards are the special currency tied to the Celestial Titan Rune dungeon system in Mists of Pandaria Classic Phase One. With Raid Finder removed at this phase, the Celestial system fills the same gearing role — the Shards collected through Celestial dungeon runs exchange at the vendor for 502 item level epic PvE gear, which puts the reward floor in line with the early-tier raid loot pool.
The boost runs the Celestial dungeon rotation to stack the booked Shard total on your character. Each Celestial run drops Shards, and the full set of Pandaria Classic dungeons feed into the rotation. Pacing depends on which dungeons go fastest at the booked time and how many Shards your target total needs.
What the Currency Unlocks
502 ilvl PvE gear is the main use case. The Celestial vendor stocks gear pieces across most slots at that item level — the equivalent of what Raid Finder loot would have delivered in a standard release timeline. The Shard cost per piece is set per slot; the booster scopes the run count based on the booked total and any slot priorities you mention at booking.
Valor Points accumulate alongside the Shards. Each Celestial run pays a baseline Valor reward on top of the Shard drop. That Valor can be spent on the augment system to upgrade existing gear by 8 ilvl per piece, or on the Valor vendor for 489 ilvl pieces at Revered reputation tiers. Any side drops from the dungeon bosses, gold, and miscellaneous loot stay on the character.

Can I keep Valor and side drops from the runs?
Yes. Valor Points accumulated during the Celestial runs stay in your currency tab and can be spent however you like — on gear augments, vendor pieces, or saved for later.
